It's been a long while since I last had an asthma attack. I had almost forgotten what it feels like to lose your breath. How lack of oxygen effects everything you try to do. You act a little goofy and start to make mistakes. You find yourself skirting the edges of panic. For the past few months I have been enjoying free e-books and wallpapers from tor books. This was part of a promotion leading up the unveiling of the new tor.com website. Now that the new website is online, the free books and art will only be available for a short period of time.

Every time I drive north on Western avenue in NW OKC, and I see the Paul Meade Insurance sign, I have to sing the jingle. My wife thinks I am nuts, but she did not grow up in Oklahoma City. I am not sure how you define a successful commercial but I have this friggin number memorized 20 years after the spot stopped airing.
