Hey I Follow That Guy!

twitter-addicts It is interesting how small the world is becoming. Sometimes I feel like I can reach out of my window and brush the arm of any other person in the world. This in large part thanks to services like twitter , pownce and jaiku. You can follow anyone on twitter, for example,  and then watch them go through life. And if you reply to something they say, there is a good chance they will talk to you, if only for a bit.

My boss often drops magazines or mailing on my desk that he thinks I will be interested in or that he would like me to read.  A few days ago, he brought me a copy of Deliver magazine, which is apparently a direct mail marketing mag created by the US Postal Service. I imagine they are hurting with the rise of electronic communications, espeically things like twitter.

As I flipped through the pages, wondering if the magazine had anything that was more than a big "please mail more stuff" sales pitch, suddenly a name jumped out at me.  I stopped and looked and the article was called "Start The Conversation", and it was a discussion with Joseph Jaffe (who is often mistakenly called Jeff apparently, something i learned on twitter). I have been following Jaffe on twitter for sometime and immediately dropped in to twitter to comment on the magazine article..

Elmo elmofromok @jaffejuice just stumbled across an article about you in a post office magazine.. small world

To which he actually responded ;)

Joseph Jaffe jaffejuice @elmofromok - yeah that was Deliver Magazine. Pretty cool profile :)
