Getting Prompted by Geeks to Write about Cookies

I have really enjoyed the Geek Writers group that started meeting at the okcCoCo a few months ago. I look forward to it all month long. If you are a writer in the okc area, I suggest you check it out sometime.

At the last meeting, we had a writers prompt to inspire us to write. Here is what the prompt was:

Write a scene of any length or style that SHOWS character emotion and
action rather than TELLING us about it. Use the following:

- A character who is nervous and suspicious
- An authority figure who is getting angry and impatient
- A plucky, happy-go-lucky teenager
- Use an aged, falling apart building as your scenery

Try to follow the guidelines for showing instead of telling.

Based on this prompt, I wrote a very short little tale about a young girl and girl scout cookies. I really liked the way it turned out. You can read it here.
