My New Website

I am getting my new site, www.elmofromok.com, rolling along using Drupal. It's a pretty nifty set of open source software that allows me to achieve a blog and personal/community type site pretty nicely. Actually, you could create just about any type of site with it, as it's super customizable.
I will continue to post to lj but you start seeing a lot more of these 'cross posts' between the two. :)
If you get a chance I would enjoy it if you went over there and created an account there.

Getting people from LJ to actually make accounts and comment here. That's always been the biggest complaint I've gotten when I moved a lot of my blogging offline; people actually go to great lengths to remain too lazy to comment on an external site. The way my x-poster workers, the lj-cut style link actually sends them directly to my site. Rather than use the comment form right there at the bottom of the article (which does not require an account), 90% of people prefer to use the back button, then click a "leave a comment" link. Further, if I turn off commenting on the LJ side, people invariably go find one of my LJ posts that is open to commenting so they can leave me something there saying if I'd allowed commenting on LJ, they would have left something on the post, but it's too much trouble to comment on an external site.

I consider the sites geared towards two separate audiences. LJ is for friends and such, this site will be for general blogging purposes.
It will not bother me if most lj people do not come over to this site.
