If you sell homes, how can you forget the photos?

While I was at the Oklahoma State Fair* yesterday  out of curiosity, I walked around inside a few of the display modular homes that a local company, Maxeys, had set up and fully furnished.  I have a negative view of modular homes based on my experiences with mobile homes as a child and the fact that we are in Tornado alley, and mobile homes are like twinkies for tornados. Nom Nom OW!

But actually, I found myself impressed by how nice they were on the inside. The kitchens were bigger and nicely laid out with islands and plenty nice counter space. The bathroom were large with very comfortable looking spa tubs. The closets were huge and accessible. Everything look modern and comfortable.  Not what I expected at all.

I do not think I would want a modular home as my permanent home but as a vacation home out on some land or by a lake, it would be a nice place for a good price.

I decided this because of what I saw.

So last night, I wanted to show my wife some of the interiors I had seen and so I tracked down the company website and proceeded to time-warp back to 1998.

There wasn't a single photo of the interiors of their homes, on the entire website.

What the hell is wrong with companies these days.  It boggles the mind to think that a company that sells a pricey item, that they have improved to the point that seeing it will impress and surprise most of the people who look and they do not have a single photo showing it off on the site?!

If they were to do it right they would have 360 shots down of each model, or video tours. But simply grabbing a digital camera and taking a few shots themselves is not so much to ask.

And please hire a web designer who does not consider Frontpage a tool for professionals.  Selling one home would pay for the entire website redesign.

* which I will not link to in protest of a missing mute button, sigh.
